Rookwise is an AI-powered learning companion built for school learners. Rook — our friendly owl — explains topics, plans homework, drills flashcards, and quizzes learners in a way that actually helps them understand.

What Rookwise is

Rookwise is a study helper for learners, not a homework-answer machine. It combines an AI tutor (Ask Rook), a homework planner, adaptive flashcards, quizzes, a curriculum browser, and a Parent Hub — all in one calm, learner-friendly app.

Our mission

To make excellent, patient tutoring available to every learner — regardless of income, location, or school. We believe a learner who feels confident asking questions is a learner who keeps growing.

AI-powered learning

Rook is designed to explain, not just answer. Every response is broken into short, age-appropriate steps with worked examples, gentle hints, and follow-up questions. Learners can ask for a simpler explanation, a harder example, or a quick quiz on the same topic.

Built for Grades 4 to 12

Content is tuned by grade level. Grades 4–7 get shorter sentences, more emojis, and story-style examples. Grades 8–12 get structured explanations, exam-style questions, and CAPS-aligned practice.

South African CAPS guidance

Subjects, topics, and vocabulary follow the South African CAPS curriculum, so learners practise what they'll actually be tested on at school.

Safe AI for students

Rook is instructed to stay on educational topics, avoid unsafe content, and refuse to do assessments for a learner. Chats are private to the learner, and parents can link their own account to see progress via the Parent Hub with a PIN.

Where we're going next

Rookwise starts in South Africa, but the platform is built for the world. International curricula, more languages, and richer tutoring modes are on the roadmap.
