1. Acceptable use
Rookwise is a study helper for school learners. You agree to use the service for legitimate learning purposes only. Do not attempt to abuse the AI, upload harmful or illegal content, share your account with others, or try to break the platform. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.
2. Student responsibilities
Learners agree to use Rookwise to learn — not to cheat. Do not submit AI-generated answers as your own work when your school does not allow it. Do not share your login with classmates. Be kind in Ask Rook chats and report anything that feels unsafe.
3. Parent responsibilities
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising younger learners' use of Rookwise and for consenting to the collection and processing of a learner's information. Parents agree to keep their PIN private and to use the Parent Hub to support — not surveil unlawfully — the learners they are linked to.
4. Subscription terms
Rookwise offers a Free plan with daily limits, and paid plans (Plus at R119 per month and Pro at R189 per month) with higher fair-use limits and more features. One subscription covers one learner. Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the period selected until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals; unused portions of a paid period are not refunded except where required by law. Prices, features, and limits may change; you will be notified of material changes before your next renewal.
5. AI disclaimer
Rook is a helpful AI tutor, but AI can make mistakes. Always verify important information (especially for exams and formal assessments) with your teacher, textbook, or another trusted source. Rookwise is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or psychological). If a learner is in crisis, contact a trusted adult or emergency services.
6. Intellectual property
Rookwise, the Rook mascot, the logo, and the platform's software and design are owned by Rookwise and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use the service for personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or resell the platform or its content. Content you create in your own account (notes, chats, tasks) remains yours; you grant us the licence needed to store and display it back to you.
7. Account termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the AI, or attempt to harm other users or the platform. Where we terminate for cause we will, where reasonable, notify you and explain why.
8. Liability limitations
Rookwise is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for any loss arising out of decisions made based on AI output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, gross negligence or wilful misconduct).
