Terms and Conditions

Rookwise supports school learners in Grades 4–12 with South African CAPS learning, AI tutoring, quizzes, exam preparation, flashcards, planning, uploads, voice input, progress features and Parent Hub. Features and limits differ by plan and may change reasonably as the service develops.

Rookwise is an educational support tool, not a school, teacher, examination authority or source of official curriculum rules. AI-generated material can be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable. Check important work with a teacher, school and official curriculum documents.

Rookwise does not provide legal, medical, financial or other professional advice and is not an emergency service. Contact emergency services or a trusted responsible adult where urgent help is needed.

• Provide accurate information, protect login details and promptly report suspected misuse.
• Use Rookwise lawfully and for appropriate learning purposes.
• Do not probe security, bypass limits, impersonate others, upload malicious or unlawful content, infringe rights, or use another learner’s account or private information.
• Do not submit unnecessary secrets, payment details or highly sensitive material in AI chats or uploads.

We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect learners, other users, the service or legal obligations. Contact support if you believe a restriction is mistaken.

A responsible parent or guardian must be involved where required by law. Creating an account does not by itself prove valid guardian consent.

For a learner under 18, a parent or guardian must purchase and control Plus or Pro. The learner may use an assigned entitlement but may not independently enter payment details, start or cancel recurring billing, change payment information, or otherwise control the billing account. Learners aged 18 or older may manage their own subscriptions after age confirmation.

Parent Hub V1 is a PIN-protected guardian view inside the learner account, rather than a separate parent account. A parent or guardian using it must keep the Parent PIN private and may view only information for a learner they are authorised to support.

Launch prices are Free at R0, Plus at R119 per month and Pro at R179 per month, in South African rand. Published prices and included limits apply at the time of purchase, subject to notice and applicable law.

Live PayFast checkout and provider-controlled subscription management are not yet enabled. A browser return page never activates paid access; paid status must come from trusted server records following confirmed payment-provider processing.

Before paid billing launches, the checkout will disclose recurrence, billing dates, cancellation method and any applicable refund process. Refunds and cancellations will be handled in accordance with applicable South African law and the disclosed purchase terms; these terms do not promise an automatic refund in every case.

You retain rights you have in content you submit. You give Rookwise the limited permission needed to store, process, transmit and display that content to operate, secure and support the service. Rookwise and its licensors retain rights in the platform, branding and supplied materials.

Our Privacy Policy explains data processing. Rookwise may apply automated and human safety review and may create redacted alerts where content suggests significant risk. Automated controls are not guaranteed to detect every unsafe situation.

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or error-free AI output. To the extent permitted by law, Rookwise is not responsible for losses caused by relying on AI output without appropriate checking, misuse of the service, or events outside reasonable control. Nothing excludes liability or consumer rights that South African law does not permit us to exclude.

You may stop using Rookwise and request account deletion from Settings or the deletion information page. A safety window and review may apply, and limited records may be retained where required for accounting, fraud prevention, security, safeguarding or law. Paid cancellation will use the provider process once live.

These terms are governed by South African law, subject to mandatory consumer protections and the jurisdiction of competent South African courts. Questions may be sent to support@rookwiseai.com.
